Shakopee Living Room Transformation
This space did not match the bright, kindhearted, and cheery nature of the clients who lived there and we wanted to change that. It had been a couple decades since this room had been updated and these open minded clients were looking to swap out their more traditional style for a more transitional look. We added recessed lights and a decorative drum shade light along with neutral colored fabrics for the new furniture to lighten thing up. To create a great foundation for the space and to add value to the home we extended the hardwood floor from the kitchen and we replaced the short baseboards with something more substantial. In order to create interest in the room we mixed up stained furniture with painted pieces. And to give the room some real pizazz we incorporated in a couple of different fabric patterns; plaid, floral and geometric. Finally, we tied it all together with color. Creamy white and dark brown grounded the room and invigorating greens and calming blues took the room to new heights. The clients are very pleased with their new living room and we are too!
Kitchen Renovation in Prior Lake
This kitchen was part of a larger remodel that included a living room, dining room and home office. A family of five had shared this space for many years, but with three growing teenagers living in house it was time to create a space that would accommodate the needs of this busy sports family. The kitchen sink and the refrigerator stayed in the same place, but everything else was relocated in order to make the kitchen bigger and create an open floor plan. With such a large family to cook for one of the requirements of the remodel was having a bigger range. The clients chose this gorgeous and powerful 48" Thermador Range and Steam Oven to suit their needs. When you've got a lot of people using a space, organization is key. The kitchen was outfitted with lots of things that kept things close at hand and everything in its rightful space, such as pull out spice racks and utensil holders. To create a space that would be interesting, but yet still feel balanced we mixed and coordinated a variety of materials. We choose a luxury vinyl plank for the flooring, painted and stained shaker style cabinetry, a classic subway tile backsplash with glass tile accents and two different styles of Cambria countertops. While living with teenagers one can never take life too seriously, so to keep things light and fun we added a few rustic touches, like the farmhouse sink and the sliding barn doors.
